Take control of your New Car Advertising

Submitted by admin on Wednesday, 8 July 2009No Comment

Brand New Cars in Stock (BNCIS) on carsales.com.au now allows you to control the advertised drive away price of your vehicles on the carsales network.

Prior to the introduction of the Clarity in Pricing Legislation on May 25th 2009, carsales would only publish a RRP of your BNCIS vehicles. We have received countless requests from dealers wanting to take control of this pricing as they do in other forms of advertising.

As a result, carsales have provided dealers with complete pricing control.

Pricing on the carsales website is presented in two ways. If a vehicle price is supplied, then this is listed as a drive away price and will be shown on the carsales network as per the example below, along with the tagline ‘Drive Away No More to Pay’.

If a dealer chooses not to provide carsales a price for their vehicle the vehicle will be displayed with a POA (Price on Application) message. See the example below.

In order to get the most out of your listing, it is recommended that you provide a price for your Brand New Car in Stock (BNCIS).

Ranking

In order to improve online customer experience, BNCIS vehicles that display a price will appear above vehicles that are priced with POA in a default search. This is to ensure that customers are presented with a list of vehicles that are within their budget, as per the following example.

Improved quality of vehicle enquiries

The more information a consumer has about the vehicle they are interested in, the better the quality of enquiry. Consumers spend a lot of time researching their next vehicle purchase online, and if they have an idea of pricing before they submit an enquiry, they are better qualified to determine the vehicles suitability for them.

Move Aged Inventory

How many new cars do you have in stock that are older than 30 days? How many vehicles are older than 60 days? With BNCIS pricing, you now have the ability to reduce the price on a vehicle that is taking up space on your floor to generate some quality enquiries from consumers that have selected your vehicle out of the 150,000 vehicles available on the carsales website.

You don’t need to discount the price by thousands of dollars, but you can build an attractive advertisement by the effective use of comments to sell the vehicle. Additionally, you can create a unique vehicle package by including some accessories / options that will help your vehicle stand out from the rest. It’s not the price that sells the vehicle, it‘s the value for money that the consumer perceives the vehicle to represent.

Increase your ROI on your carsales advertising

Providing carsales with a ‘Drive Away No More to Pay’ price will actually reduce your advertising cost, as it will prevent consumers from submitting an enquiry to find out the price of a vehicle - only to discover it is out of their price range, hence costing you valuable advertising dollars.

Top Deals

For a limited time, carsales is currently providing ‘Top Deals’ listings free of charge to BNCIS dealers, however this only applies to vehicles that list a ‘Drive Away’ price.

To find out how easy it is to add a price to your BNCIS inventory, please contact your carsales Account Manager (you can find their number at the top of your Autogate account) or call our dealer support team on 1300 728 800.
